2024 iPad Pro Unveils Stunning OLED Display, But No Always-On Feature—Here's Why

Image
The new iPad Pro adopts OLED technology and integrates two OLED panels powered by M4 silicon, improving the brightness for SDR content as well as HDR content. The LTPO improves the display’s overall panel efficiency by allowing the display to perform at a lower 10Hz refresh rate for static content. However, the lower threshold means the iPad Pro doesn’t support always-on displays. Apple’s internal requirement for always-on displays is 1Hz, and the iPad Pro falls short of this requirement. The iPhone 13 Pro didn’t offer an always on display feature because it didn’t have an OLED panel that could reach 1Hz. It’s likely that Apple won’t allow always-on features via a software update either. Users interested in always-on displays will have to wait for future versions of the iPad Pro to be released. Regardless of the lack of always-on features on the iPad Pro, it’s important to note that the 2024 iPad represents a quantum leap forward in display technology. Disclaimer : Please note that all...

The announcement is expected to take place on May 13, the day before Google’s I/O, Reuters reports. OpenAI did not respond to requests for comment, but reports say that the new search feature will improve ChatGPT’s usefulness by pulling answers from online content and sources such as Wikipedia. Visual aids such as diagrams may also be included. However, users have expressed skepticism about the accuracy of ChatGPT, prompting them to verify information on their own. OpenAI’s search product will likely compete with Google, which is known as the “800-pound gorilla” in the online search market. How will OpenAI fare against Google’s established presence remains to be seen.
